Benefits of Artificial Reefs
The most common use for artificial reefs has been to promote fishing and increase fish density.
However as the practice of artificial reefs has developed and research has increased, numerous other applications
have been found. Benefits include an increased marine life production and biodiversity, tourism promotion (from
recreational diving and fishing to sportfishing industries to underwater tour companies), preservation of local
natural environments, and even improved water quality.
